Job Description
Study Group, a global leader in international education, is seeking an energetic and committed English Tutor for its International Study Centre in Bahrain. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and developing English modules for undergraduate and Pre-Master’s level teaching, ensuring an outstanding student experience. Collaborating with colleagues, the English Tutor will contribute to curriculum development, implement innovative teaching practices, and support student learning and welfare.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deliver, and develop English modules for undergraduate and Pre-Master’s level teaching.
Prepare and deliver teaching sessions, including synchronous and asynchronous input.
Mark formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students.
Support students' academic journey and provide appropriate intervention strategies.
Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance and performance.
Participate in quality assurance procedures and contribute to course monitoring and review.
Collaborate with teaching and support staff to manage programme and student lifecycle.
Participate in training and development activities, maintaining a log of these activities.
Carry out other duties as required by the Academic Management team.
Qualifications & Training:
Bachelor’s degree in a related subject area.
Relevant Teaching Qualification: TEFL-I/ TEFLQ status such as CELTA/DELTA/Trinity Dip or equivalent.
Postgraduate degree in a related subject area (desirable).
Experience Required:
Extensive experience in teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
Experience in the UK Higher or Further education sector, preferably with international students.
Familiarity with online/blended learning and Virtual Learning Environments (VLE).
Experience in teaching material development and assessment design.
Knowledge/Skills:
Fluent spoken and written English.
Understanding of the UK Higher Education sector.
Knowledge of EAP and the needs of non-native English-speaking students.
Competence in teaching and administrative IT skills.
Commitment to continuous professional development.
Strong record-keeping skills and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
