Job Description
The Economics, Data and Statistics Sector is creating a new Statistics Office for NEOM to produce robust data on people, the economy, and various sectors. This digital environment aims to provide real-time statistical insights beyond traditional capabilities. The Senior Manager Investment and International Trade Statistics will focus on producing high-quality statistics on investment and trade, using NEOM's existing data and building automated data pipelines. The role involves exploring new data sources, methodologies, and contributing to NEOM's Statistics Office as a global statistical model.
Key Accountabilities & Activities:
Statistics Production:
Data Collection and Analysis: Lead efforts in organizing and analyzing data on investment and trade activities, including foreign direct investment, import/export volumes, tariffs, and trade agreements.
Reporting and Presentation: Prepare reports and presentations on investment and trade trends, opportunities, and risks. Present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic plans and initiatives based on data insights. Identify growth opportunities, risk mitigation, and resource optimization.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, and research institutions.
Quality Assurance: Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security through processes and protocols. Conduct regular audits and quality checks.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on laws, regulations, and industry standards related to investment and trade. Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and data protection protocols.
Adherence to Standards: Follow international standards, classifications, and definitions in producing official statistics for NEOM. Implement rigorous process management and ensure high-quality statistics in compliance with global standards.
Background, Skills & Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Minimum of 8 years in investment analysis, trade economics, or statistical analysis, focusing on investment and trade data.
Proven leadership experience in managing teams and overseeing complex projects.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python) and data visualization tools.
Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas and insights to diverse audiences.
Deep understanding of global economic trends, investment strategies, and trade policies.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize competing demands, and maintain attention to detail.
Commitment to producing high-quality work with integrity and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
