Your new role, what's involved?
Power System Analysis: Lead power system analysis for transmission and distribution projects.
Feasibility and Masterplans: Conduct feasibility studies, develop masterplans, dispatch studies, renewable integration, and review grid codes.
Renewable Generation: Design and prepare renewable generation connection schemes from distribution to utility-scale, determining the techno-economical optimum amount.
Technical Studies: Perform load flow studies, fault level calculations, harmonic analysis, voltage stability, and transient stability analysis using DIgSILENT, PSS/E, PLEXOS, ETAP, CYME PSAF, ASPEN One Liner, ASPEN database, and IPSA+.
Review and Compliance: Oversee all Power System Studies technical submittals by EPC contractors/developers, ensuring compliance with Client’s Electricity Transmission Code and international standards.
Model Review and Validation: Review power system models developed by EPC contractors and ensure all grid compliance requirements are met.
Technical Meetings and Clarifications: Attend meetings, address technical clarifications raised by EPC contractors/developers.
FAT & SAT Oversight: Supervise FAT & SAT visits to ensure performance criteria related to grid compliance are met, using tools such as RTDS.
Model Integration: Assist clients in incorporating HVDC models provided by EPC contractors into the Clients network PSSE & PSCAD models for various planning studies.
Comprehensive Study Reviews: Oversee a range of power system studies including reactive power capability, grid impact, transient and dynamic stability, insulation coordination, switching transient, faulted transient switching, transformer energization, AC/DC harmonics and flicker, harmonic filter sizing, harmonic impedance locus identification, AC protection relay setting coordination, and sub-synchronous resonance.
Exposure and Understanding: Demonstrate strong exposure to power system studies, including modeling, report preparation, and interactions with national grid operators and offtakes.
Grid Code Expertise: Exhibit a robust understanding of grid codes, especially for the ME region (e.g., UAE, KSA, OMAN).
HVDC Projects: Possess experience in power system studies and design related to High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) offshore projects, specifically Voltage Source Converter technologies and Grid Impact studies.
Project Execution and Business Development: Lead project execution and contribute to new business acquisition.
Team Management: Manage a team of power system experts, including recruiting new staff for team growth.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Business development experience.
Developing WSP go to market strategy for power system projects.
Review of reports prepared by the team.
Travel around the GCC region as and when required.

Demonstrable experience in client handling while front facing the clients on the ongoing and upcoming projects.
Master’s Degree in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering
Exposure to international projects.
Experience as a seller -doer.
Excellent communication skills, presentable and interpersonal skills.
