Job Description

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced physician to join their Adult Critical Care department.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to critically ill adult patients. You will perform diagnoses, develop treatment plans, participate in consultations, and ensure adherence to best practices and hospital protocols.

Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care across all aspects of adult critical care, adhering to your clinical privileges.

  • Offer timely consultations (inpatient and emergency room) upon request.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical records.

  • Participate in on-call services and ensure timely response within established hospital guidelines.

  • Conduct daily rounds to identify patients ready for discharge and write discharge orders accordingly.

  • Perform additional clinical duties assigned within the specialty.

Academic Responsibilities:

  • Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows.

  • Participate in departmental educational activities, training programs, and conferences (national and international).

  • Maintain and enhance your professional knowledge through continuing education.

Research Responsibilities:

  • Participate in clinical, basic, and translational research projects.

  • Publish papers in accordance with hospital research policies to advance knowledge, improve education, and contribute to KFSH&RC's reputation.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Undertake administrative duties assigned by the department head or chair.

  • Participate in mandatory departmental activities, committees, and other administrative functions.

  • Assist the department in maximizing resource utilization.

  • Adhere to current hospital policies and procedures and stay updated on changes.

  • Contribute to the education, training, and development of yourself and others.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school (required).

  • Completion of residency training in Adult Critical Care or a related subspecialty (required).

  • Board certification in Adult Critical Care (Arab or American boards) or equivalent from the UK or Canada (required).

  • Minimum seven years of experience in adult critical care or a relevant subspecialty (required).
