• As a Senior Environment Engineer, responsibility is to assess, manage, and mitigate environmental impacts associated with various projects and operations. You will apply your expertise in environmental engineering to ensure compliance with regulations, minimize adverse effects on ecosystems and human health, and promote sustainability practices. Your role involves conducting environmental assessments, implementing pollution control measures, and providing technical support to project teams to achieve environmental objectives.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Environmental Management:

·      Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) to evaluate potential environmental effects of proposed projects or activities.

·      Identify and assess risks to air, water, soil, and biodiversity, considering factors like pollution, habitat destruction, and resource depletion.

·      Provide recommendations for mitigation measures and alternative solutions to minimize adverse environmental impacts.

·      Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and standards at local, national, and international levels.

·      Interpret and apply relevant environmental laws and regulations to project planning, design, and implementation.

·      Liaise with regulatory authorities and agencies to obtain permits and approvals for environmental aspects of projects.

·      Develop and implement pollution control measures to prevent or minimize pollution from industrial processes, construction activities, and waste disposal.

·      Design and oversee installation of pollution control systems such as wastewater treatment plants, air pollution control devices, and hazardous waste management facilities.

·      Monitor and assess environmental performance through sampling, testing, and analysis of air, water, and soil quality.

·      Promote sustainability practices and principles within project teams and across the organization.

·      Identify opportunities for resource conservation, energy efficiency, and waste reduction to minimize environmental footprint.

·      Incorporate sustainable design and green technologies into project plans to enhance environmental performance.

·      Develop and implement environmental management systems (EMS) to systematically identify, assess, and manage environmental risks and opportunities.

·      Conduct audits and reviews to evaluate effectiveness of EMS implementation and ensure continuous improvement in environmental performance.

Project Management:

·      Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.

·      Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure adherence to project timelines.

·      Contribute to design and development of engineering solutions, including drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

. Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project requirements.

·      Oversee project execution, monitor progress, and identify and address issues or deviations from plans.

·      Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential impacts.

Skills

·      Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, hydrology, marine biology, or related discipline). Advanced degree preferred.

·      Proven experience in consulting or professional services, with a track record of successful project management and client relationship management within the Groundwater, Environment, and/or Marine sectors.

·      Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellence within their respective areas of expertise.

·      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.

·      Strategic thinker with a business-oriented mindset and a focus on driving results and achieving organizational objectives within each specialized area.

·      Sound judgment and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to navigate complex challenges and make informed, timely decisions.
