Job Description

The Department of Information Technology at the Community College of Qatar is dedicated to providing high-quality education in Cyber Security and related fields. We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Professor to join our team and significantly enhance our teaching provision while contributing to the growth of our department. Job Description:

The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching and development of Computer Cyber Security courses, as well as our department's expanding curriculum in cybersecurity. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in areas such as Penetration Testing Methodologies, Information Security Auditing, Exploit Development, Malware Analysis, Hacking, Countermeasures, and Intrusion Detection Systems.

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field, with a focus on Cybersecurity.

  • Expertise in teaching one or more areas of Cybersecurity, such as cryptography, network security, secure software development, digital forensics, and cyber threat intelligence.

  • Minimum three years of experience in teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate level, with a commitment to excellence in education. GCC experience is advantageous.

  • Professional qualifications are advantageous, but not essential.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic environment, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both Arabic and English languages.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate skill and knowledge in teaching discipline.

  • Develop syllabi for relevant courses.

  • Review, evaluate, and recommend student textbooks and learning materials.

  • Develop and use a variety of teaching materials to assist students in meeting course objectives.

  • Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.

  • Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course objectives.

  • Keep accurate student records and submit related reports and forms within requested timelines.

  • Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs.

  • Hold regular office hours.

  • Participate in department and college-wide professional development activities and committees.

  • Plan lessons and assignments in line with college and departmental quality standards.

  • Adhere to instructional plans set by the department/program and teach courses according to allocated contact hours.

  • Design assessments to measure student progress and grade papers, tests, and other work as per the course syllabus and departmental guidelines.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science/Computer Engineering in Cybersecurity or related field

The Community College of Qatar (CCQ) was launched in 2010 through the Emiri Decree No.52 of 2011 and under the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to address the educational and labor market needs necessary to meet the 2030 Qatar National Vision. CCQ offers a wide range of academic and workforce programs including Associate of Arts and Associate of Science for transfer to four–year universities. The college also offers a number of Associate of Applied Arts and Applied Science degrees as well as Baccalaureate degree programs in Public Administration, Information Technology and Engineering Technology.
