The Opportunity
In this dynamic role, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering successful projects across the energy, chemical, and resources sectors. You'll leverage your technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Management:
Champion Worley's "One-Way" safety program, fostering a strong HSE culture within your team.
Uphold best practices in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Collaborate in developing, implementing, and reviewing HSE systems, strategies, and procedures.
Client Relationships:
Build and maintain positive relationships with our clients.
Proactively address any performance, scope, or schedule concerns.
Clearly identify, document, and deliver on client requirements.
Commercial Management:
Effectively manage project budgets within the overall project scope.
Scope Management:
Ensure adherence to WorleyParsons' procedures and contractual requirements.
Implement a robust change control process.
Time Management:
Contribute to the development of the project schedule and oversee work execution according to the plan.
Cost Control:
Monitor project costs, forecast final expenditures, and identify trends to prevent cost overruns.
Quality Management:
Ensure compliance with WorleyParsons' quality policies and procedures.
Utilize your knowledge of our engineering and procurement systems to deliver high-quality projects.
Team Management:
Motivate and guide your team to achieve project milestones and objectives.
Foster open communication, address challenges, and remove roadblocks to success.
Communications Management:
Provide regular and clear progress reports to project management.
Communicate effectively with the design team and external stakeholders.
Ensure accurate, timely, and impactful reporting to the Project Manager.
Risk Management:
Proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
Monitor the closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
Design Management:
Provide clear direction to the design team, including meeting productivity and budget targets.
Ensure the design team adheres to client specifications, regulations, and codes.
Manage interdisciplinary team interfaces effectively.
Procurement/Subcontracts Management:
Oversee procurement processes to guarantee that materials meet specifications, are delivered on schedule, and remain within budget.
The Ideal Candidate:
Hold a recognized engineering degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) or equivalent experience.
A Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) designation is preferred.
Eligible for Certified Practising Project Practitioner (CPPP) certification or a comparable qualification (preferred).
Possess substantial technical expertise and practical experience in your engineering discipline.
Proven track record of success in project engineering on smaller projects, with demonstrable commercial and contractual acumen.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities.
A proactive and results-oriented individual with a commitment to safety and quality.
