Dissecting Room Specialist I

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of anatomical specimens: Dissect and preserve cadavers and prosections for use by faculty and students in gross anatomy labs.

• Specimen maintenance: Regularly treat specimens with preservatives, maintain the cold room's hygiene, and ensure specimens remain in good condition.

• Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of cadavers, models, and other teaching materials.

• Lab maintenance: Ensure the dissecting room is clean and hygienic.

• Lab setup: Prepare cadavers, prosected specimens, and other materials for each gross anatomy class.

• Student support: Provide anatomy specimens and audiovisual aids to students during revision sessions.

• Additional duties: Perform other tasks as instructed by the supervisor.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working in a laboratory or healthcare setting (preferred).

• Strong understanding of human anatomy (preferred).

• Meticulous attention to detail and aseptic techniques.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
