Job Description
The Chiller Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing malfunctions, and providing technical support for chiller systems. This role requires a strong understanding of refrigeration principles, electrical schematics, and industry regulations to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesRoutine MaintenancePerform routine maintenance on chiller systems, including cleaning, adjusting, and replacing parts to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
Use the manufacturer's instructions to ensure proper setup and operation.
Diagnosis and RepairDiagnose and repair malfunctions in chiller systems, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration principles and electrical schematics to identify issues and implement solutions.
Test and balance refrigerant levels in chiller systems, using gauges and other tools to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and maintain system efficiency.
Technical Support and GuidanceProvide technical support and guidance to superiors and end users on the operation and maintenance of chiller systems.
Offer troubleshooting advice and recommendations for system improvements.
Documentation and Record KeepingDocument all maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and time spent to ensure accurate billing and inventory management.
Research and ImplementationResearch and implement new chiller technologies or modifications to existing systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, or comply with new environmental regulations.
Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations.
Skills
EducationHigh School Diploma.
Post-Secondary Certificate in HVAC systems, mechanical engineering, or refrigeration technology is beneficial.
