Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join The English School in Kuwait as the Head of ICT and Computing. This middle leadership role focuses on driving the development of digital technology to support teaching and learning, aligning with the English National Curriculum and best practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in the school's e-learning strategy and collaborate closely with the Director of Studies and IT Systems department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach predominantly in the specialist subject of ICT and may undertake pastoral responsibilities as a KS3 form tutor.

  • Provide guidance and support across subjects (KG to Year 8) to enhance digital learning.

  • Lead best practices, encourage collaboration, and offer support and training to colleagues.

  • Oversee cloud and shared drive storage systems in conjunction with the IT department.

  • Develop and implement the school's digital learning strategy.

  • Keep abreast of developments in the National Curriculum and communicate them to the department.

  • Foster student initiatives such as the ICT crew and Teacher Parent Partnership workshops.

  • Deliver training activities and participate in curriculum reviews and academic initiatives.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Exemplary knowledge of pastoral and safeguarding practices.

  • Fully qualified teacher with at least 3 years' teaching experience, preferably in a UK school or teaching the English National Curriculum.

  • Fluency in English is essential.

  • Strong interest and knowledge in digital learning technology, with experience in Google products desirable.

  • Proven experience in leading innovation and change within an ICT department.

  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff, delegate tasks, and lead presentations and training sessions.

  • Strong IT skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Creative approach to teaching and problem-solving.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively, show initiative, and manage workload.

  • Positive attitude and readiness to contribute to the school's co-curricular program.
