About the Role: As the Head of STEM at Study Group's International Study Centre in Bahrain, you will lead a team of tutors to ensure the best possible student outcomes and experiences in the areas of Science, Computing, Engineering, and Mathematics. This role involves managing performance, facilitating professional development, overseeing course design and delivery, and contributing to the enhancement of the centre's academic standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and motivate a team of Tutors to ensure the best possible student outcomes and experiences in STEM subjects.
Provide effective performance management of direct reports, including setting objectives, reviewing performance, and conducting formal reviews.
Facilitate and support staff participation in continuous professional development activities.
Actively participate in the Centre Management Team to address challenges and drive enhancement activities.
Seek feedback from colleagues and actively engage with it to improve performance and grow as an academic leader.
Plan and oversee the design and delivery of all STEM courses, ensuring alignment with quality frameworks and assessment strategies.
Allocate teaching resources, plan teaching and learning activities, and ensure adherence to budgets and deadlines.
Oversee assessment activities, including the design of assessment tasks and the provision of feedback to students.
Ensure compliance with Study Group’s quality frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Monitor and implement actions from the Centre Action Plan relevant to STEM subjects.
Requirements:
Master’s or higher degree in a relevant discipline (essential).
Teaching experience (essential).
Leadership and management experience in a teaching and learning environment.
Experience of leading a team to achieve high levels of student academic performance.
Experience of teaching international students in higher or further education.
Experience of planning and running complex education courses in STEM subjects.
