KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensures Libray service are contemporary and appropriate to Sidra role and function through judicious purchasing/accessing of resources.
Maintains Library Service policies and procedures in accordance with evidence based practices.
Participates in organization wide patient safety programs and interprets research findings for establishing Library Services Model.
Directs planning activities for Library Services to ensure 24/7 access to high quality services, including: interviewing, hiring and on-boarding, commissioning, integration and implementation of all library collections, systems and service activation.
Builds trusting, collaborative relationships with staff, peers, other disciplines, ancillary services physicians, vendors, external partners and community leaders.
Redesigns Library information and knowledge services around the needs of patients.
Audits, assesses and makes recommendations regarding the quality of knowledge management services within Sidra
Participates in developing an environment which recognizes and values cultural differences in staff, physicians, patients and communities.
Utilizes an expert knowledge of searching online databases to perform mediated literature searches.
Liaises with healthcare faculty, residents, and students to build information literacy skills, evidence-based practice training, answer clinical questions, and promote Library services, resources and instructional opportunities as part of the Library's clinical support team
Collaborates with other Qatar Foundation libraries to provide required online resources. Ensures that written organizational Library Services policies and procedures are reviewed and updated in accordance with evidence-based practice.
Interprets information from research and utilizes research findings for the establishment of standards, practices and Library Services models
Participates in, and assesses the impact of, information services and resources directed at clinical activities that can include: EHR clinical content curation, leveraging electronic health information exchange data streams, clinic rounds and morning reports, journal clubs, just in-time evidence-based medicine instruction, expert literature searching, and customized consultation services
Disseminates research findings to Library Services team members as appropriate, and then envisions and develops best practice.
Participates and recommends Library Services quality improvement goals and objectives.
Participates in educational activities appropriate to area of specialization.
Promotes Library Services management as a desirable specialty.
Conducts periodic assessments to identify succession planning and establishes action plans.
Acts as a resource for evidence-based data and research to improve patient care.
Promotes and maintains effective communication and teamwork, communicating frequently with management and staff to foster high morale and employee engagement.
Acts as a role model in ethical behavior and business practices in accordance with Sidra's Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
Positively influences others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization. Creates an inclusive work environment that appreciates and respects different and diverse perspectives.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: ESSENTIAL PREFERRED
Education Master's Degree in Library and/or Information Studies from an ALA accredited institution.
Experience 5+ years professional library experience at management level within a medical or life sciences library. GCC Medical library experience in addition to the essential requirement preferred

Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements and manage financial resources by developing business plans and budgets.
Demonstrated ability to make oral and written presentations to diverse audiences on library services within the context of health care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Demonstrated ability to organize data and generate thorough, accurate and timely reports.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of library users - scientists, investigators, clinicians, students (from affiliated institutions), administrators and staff.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Fluency in written and spoken English
Understanding of translational medicine and evidence-based practice.
Experience with mobile applications relevant to research, health sciences and information services.
Conceptual understanding of clinical trial data and electronic medical records.
Sidra Medicine is a 400-bed women's and children's hospital, medical education and biomedical research center in Doha, Qatar. The hospital first opened its outpatient facility in 2016, followed by its inpatient hospital in January 2018. Qatar Foundation, a quasi-government organization, allotted a massive $7.9 billion budget for the hospital's construction. It first selected the center's contractors in 2008 but in 2014 assigned new contractors to complete the project. Biomedical research first began at Sidra in 2015. Outpatient care facilities and services were inaugurated in May 2016; as of 2018 there are at least 50 outpatient facilities. Throughout 2017, more than 25,000 people were treated at the hospital's outpatient clinic. On 14 January 2018, Sidra launched its inpatient hospital with 400 beds, treating 10 patients on its initial day of opening. The hospital is expected to become fully commissioned sometime in 2018, after the construction of an emergency department and the addition of further services.
