Carbon Management Subject Matter Expert

Provide Expert Guidance: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on carbon management practices, GHG emissions measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV), and sustainability best practices.

Develop Carbon Management Strategies: Collaborate with clients to develop customized carbon management strategies and action plans tailored to their specific goals and objectives.

Conduct GHG Inventories: Lead the development and implementation of GHG emissions inventories for clients, including data collection, analysis, and reporting in accordance with international standards such as ISO 14064 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Identify Reduction Opportunities: Identify opportunities for carbon emissions reduction and advise clients on implementing cost-effective mitigation measures and technologies.

Stay Abreast of Regulations: Keep abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging best practices in carbon management and sustainability, and advise clients accordingly.

Provide Training and Capacity Building: Deliver training sessions and capacity-building workshops to clients and stakeholders on carbon management concepts, methodologies, and tools.

Support Reporting and Disclosure: Assist clients in preparing sustainability reports, carbon disclosures, and other relevant documents.

Qualifications

• PhD in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field.

• 15+ years of experience in carbon management, GHG emissions accounting, and sustainability consulting.

• In-depth knowledge of carbon accounting standards and protocols, such as ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, and CDP.

• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in carbon foot printing software and tools (e.g., Carbon Trust Footprint Expert, GHG Inventory Management Systems).

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Certification as a GHG Inventory Quantifier (GHG-IQ), Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM), or similar credentials preferred.

• Commitment to sustainability principles and passion for driving positive environmental change.
