Job Description

Overview / Job Responsibilities

  • Vulnerability and Configuration Reports: Review and compile vulnerability or configuration status reports of Automated Information Systems (AIS) within the AOR. Provide Cybersecurity status briefs and recommendations for corrective actions.

  • Compliance and Authorization: Review, assess, and authorize requests to ensure compliance with DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology (IT), and provide recommendations for Government approval. Maintain documentation of all requests and approvals as per AR 25-400-2, ARIMS, including monthly IA Control validations, artifact gathering, RMF Implementation Plans (DIP), and all accreditation efforts.

  • Connection Requests: Review connection requests and provide recommendations according to the CENTCOM Connection Approval Process. Maintain documentation of these requests and approvals. Prepare DISA cap package for Defense Switched Network (DSN)/Voice system for Government review and approval.

  • Coordination: Coordinate with cybersecurity personnel within and outside of the Southwest Asia Theater of Operations to ensure network diagrams are updated and current for VOICE and DATA networks within the AOR.

  • Network Status and Recommendations: Maintain the status of and provide recommendations based on the current network architecture and engineering revisions of global MPLS and Joint Regional Security Stacks (JRSS) networks. Maintain System Network Approval Process (SNAP), perform data entry, and run inquiries for Information Systems Security Program (ISSP), Army Portfolio Management System (APMS) accounts, enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), and Enterprise Reporting Service (ERS).

  • Network Documentation: Maintain current status and provide recommendations based on current technical documentation provided by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC). Prepare documents for new technology requests to be implemented onto the network.

  • Information Assurance (IA): Provide IA recommendations for information systems and network projects per DoD, CENTCOM, and U.S. Army regulations. Conduct market research and provide recommendations for hardware and software based on DISA, NSA, NIAP, DoD, USCENTCOM, and US Army compliance standards.

  • Personnel Training Records: Track and maintain records of personnel cybersecurity training, certifications, and re-certifications for the 160th Signal Brigade and subordinate units to ensure compliance with DoD, CENTCOM, and U.S. Army regulations using ACTCS.

  • Situation Awareness Reporting: Provide a weekly situation awareness report of current operations and functional areas. This report is to be submitted COB 16:00 Kuwait time on Friday.

  • Security Assessments: Support the Government with security assessments of proposed and CENTRIX installation sites to ensure security shortfalls are identified and corrected prior to SIPRNET installation/activation.

  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI): Support the implementation, dissemination, and tracking of the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) per DoDI 8520.02, PKI, and Public Key (PK) enabling.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in cybersecurity roles and technologies, performing information systems security functions.

  • Certifications: MUST HAVE one of the following - CAP, CASP, CISM, CISSP, or GSLC.

  • Network Experience: Practical network experience supporting MPLS/Internet Protocol (IP)/Virtual Private Network (VPN) networks in a carrier environment.

  • Functional Areas: Experience in the functional areas defined by DOD 8570.01-M pertaining to IAT level II.

  • IAM Certification: Must have Information Assurance Management (IAM) level II certification requirements as detailed in DOD 8570.01-M and maintain IAM level II certification throughout the contract.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office applications, and AUTOCAD.

  • Communication Networks: Experience and knowledge of tactical and strategic communication networks and their respective regulatory compliance standards.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of DoD and Army regulations, instructions, and directives related to Information Assurance.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear and precise documents and recommendations.

  • Tools Proficiency: Proficiency with tools used in discovery and scanning of network vulnerabilities.

  • Security Clearance: MUST have an active Secret Security clearance and Single Scope Background Investigation.
