Job Description

As a Packaging and Palletizing Equipment Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the efficiency of our packaging and palletizing equipment. You will be responsible for conducting routine checks, performing maintenance tasks, developing preventive maintenance (PM) plans, and ensuring all equipment operates at peak performance. Your technical expertise and proactive approach will contribute to minimizing downtime, reducing maintenance costs, and improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily routine checks on all packaging and palletizing equipment to detect damages and ensure operational readiness using checklists and established inspection procedures.

  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance activities based on technical manuals, manufacturer recommendations, and maintenance procedures to uphold equipment performance standards.

  • Develop, implement, review, and enhance PM plans and schedules to optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

  • Provide on-site technical support and respond proactively to equipment breakdowns to maintain continuous production.

  • Coordinate with various departments (Projects, Spare Parts Stores, Planning, Technical, Production, Quality) to communicate PM schedules and ensure smooth operations.

  • Monitor and control maintenance costs, record abnormalities, and initiate corrective actions to improve equipment performance and reliability.

  • Update and maintain PM checklists, ensuring timely completion of all scheduled maintenance activities.

  • Adhere to and enhance good maintenance practices to optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimize conversion costs.

  • Initiate improvement projects in collaboration with the Head of Technical and technical team to enhance safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of manufacturing operations.

  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and food safety procedures, reporting any unsafe operations promptly.

  • Supervise installation and commissioning of new equipment or upgrades, ensuring smooth integration into existing systems.

Requirements:

  • Technical education background (Mechanics or similar); engineering degree preferred.

  • 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience with packaging and palletizing equipment.

  • Profound knowledge of packaging and palletizing equipment, especially TetraPak Packaging Lines (A3, TBA platforms) and package integrity.

  • Basic understanding of automation and mechanical operation and maintenance practices.

  • Strong electromechanical skills, including motors and sensors.

  • Familiarity with food manufacturing operations and adherence to industry standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, flow charts, diagrams, maintenance manuals, and equipment manuals.

  • Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
