Job Description
The Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in selling engineering products or services by implementing effective sales plans. They are responsible for generating inquiries, developing business relationships, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring sales targets are met. Additionally, they collaborate with internal teams to prepare quotations, manage orders, and provide excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
Client Engagement: Generate maximum inquiries by making regular personal visits to clients, leveraging market experience and relationships with site engineers, buyers, and owners.
Business Development: Identify and bring new international manufactured products to local clients. Extend hospitality to suppliers/principals' visitors and ensure they visit maximum clients.
Supplier Management: Make regular visits to international/local suppliers/principals to discuss ongoing business. Attend trade exhibitions, conferences, and meetings.
Offer Review and Negotiation: Review offers from suppliers/principals to ensure compatibility with client requirements. Negotiate for the best discounted prices and minimum delivery time.
Sales Coordination: Guide Sales Coordinators in preparing suitable quotations for clients and purchase orders for suppliers/principals. Ensure timely delivery and invoicing to clients.
Consultation: Consult with the Commercial Manager for selected deals and seek approval for reasonable offers to clients. Responsible for collecting outstanding payments on time.
Market Analysis: Brief the Commercial Manager about the market position and any challenges faced. Collaborate to resolve issues and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Continuous Learning: Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and staying updated on industry trends.
Skills Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Preferably Electrical).
4-6 years of experience in a similar field.
Strong sales skills and experience in dealing with international suppliers.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning.
