Job Description:

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician will report to the Service Manager and will be part of the Engineering Service team responsible for attending breakdowns, conducting fault-finding, diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a variety of powered access machines. Planned preventative Maintenance (PPMs) will also be a key aspect of the role.

This position requires a customer-focused approach, with the ability to build rapport and maintain solid customer relationships. The ideal candidate should be confident, professional, possess good communication skills, and have the ability to work autonomously and proactively while providing the highest levels of customer service. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician may be required to work outside of normal office hours and will primarily be depot-based.

Key Responsibilities:

Planned Maintenance:

  • Complete planned maintenance activities, ensuring the fleet's appearance is maintained to corporate standards.

  • Dispose of all waste as per the Company policy.

Repair:

  • Diagnose, fault-find, and repair machines within the workshop in line with manufacturer specifications and Company policy.

  • Adhere strictly to R4 procedures when changing the machine status: PHI (4) - Repair (3) - PDI (1) - Available.

Quality, Health, and Safety:

  • Maintain the highest level of safety during tasks, following Safe System Of Work (SSOW) and Risk assessments.

  • Report any non-compliances with health and safety or repair standards to the line manager.

  • Test-drive repaired equipment to ensure proper operation.

  • Adhere to safety procedures rigorously to prevent accidents.

  • Validate the correct operation of repaired equipment through test-driving.

Skills: Essential:

  • High school education, vocational qualification or above.

  • Previous experience working on complex machinery such as mobile access, heavy plant, or other construction equipment.

  • Good understanding of mechanical and/or electrical circuits and systems.

  • Ability to read mechanical and/or electrical circuit diagrams and schematic drawings.

  • Ability to methodically find fault, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of powered machines.

Desirable:

  • IPAF demonstrator license.

  • Knowledgeable of the Saudi Arabia geographical area.
