Process Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Safety Leadership: Maintain a safe work environment by promoting safe work practices and ensuring proper documentation.

• Commissioning & Startup:

  • Provide technical guidance and support during commissioning activities.

  • Review and participate in commissioning procedures, pre-startup safety reviews, and safety integrity level (SIL) assessments.

  • Assist with control room operations during first startup.

• Ongoing Operations Support:

  • Troubleshoot process problems, identify performance gaps, and develop solutions.

  • Design and implement performance testing programs.

  • Provide technical support to optimize plant operations and meet financial targets.

  • Participate in process safety reviews for plant changes.

  • Support minor project execution and plant modifications.

  • Offer technical expertise for maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.

  • Perform process simulations and update process documentation.

  • Guide Operations on facility operation procedures.

  • Support the development and review of Management of Change Notices.

  • Provide technical support during plant commissioning and monitor quality assurance initiatives.

• Additional Responsibilities:

  • Interface with other departments for technical collaboration.

  • Participate in troubleshooting activities and technical reviews.

  • Offer process guidance for advanced control initiatives.

  • Ensure plant operations comply with environmental and regulatory requirements.

  • Train operations personnel for plant commissioning.

  • Foster strong working relationships with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams.

  • Provide technical support for advanced control initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, process, or power plant operations (technical role).

• In-depth knowledge of combined cycle power plant steam systems (design & philosophy).

• Strong understanding of power plant startup, shutdown, and load variation impacts.

• Experience in executing reliability run test programs and commissioning power plants from the process side.

• Knowledge of process safety systems (relief devices, safety instrumented systems).

• Experience with Siemens gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines (a plus).

• Gulf experience (preferred).

• Well-rounded understanding of process engineering, DCS controls, process safety, and equipment design.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
