Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
To coordinate with supervision for preparing project schedule & defined document distribution list
Proper segregation of documents as per the categorization procedure in yard / department.
Proper labelling and database updation for all documents.
Proper definition of folders management, verifying the access controls to folders as per dept requirements and to ensure the storage spaces utilized wisely and effectively
To receive and distribute all project data to concerned team members with proper transmittals and acknowledgement system.
Coordination with Engineering / Project management / Commercial incase of any disputes related to document numbering and revisions.
Coordination with preparators and supervision to ensure that all documents are being controlled through proper revision management.
Coordination with onboard and shop supervision to ensure the latest documents are being used and to supersede the previous revisions with proper stamps.
Assist supervision to prepare the project program and to reschedule the project plan against the defined documents distribution plan.
Assist documentation and planning team to have the accurate details by having effective communication in line with latest document revisions.
To coordinate with preparators and supervision to ensure timely submission of all documents as per the defined procedure.
Monitoring the manhours consumption project wise and highlighting the discrepancies to the supervisor in-charge and managers.
Assist Foreman-Planning in preparing and developing individual critical projects run down curve and updates weekly progress to supervisors and managers.
Verification of man hours booking against correct sequence nos in line with drawings and trackers and to highlight concerned supervision in case of disputes.
Man hours calculation and preplanning of piping execution procedures.
Actively assist the supervisors in implementation of the programs.
Reviewing the 5 weeks plan and ensuring the loading of manpower in line with the project manpower requirements.
Experience / Qualification & Skills:
Piping Construction plus minimum 3 years shipyard experience or similar construction industry.
Minimum 4 years planning experience includes division of work scope within modules/locations through all stages of construction activities.
Competency to read piping drawings in line with material grades and other basic process details.
Comprehensive knowledge in ship construction and relationships between trades.
Computer literate utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and basic familiarity with Primavera.
Ability to extract information from available drawings, AutoCAD, spools tracker/traceability, weld map.
Ability to present to a formal audience.
Proficient in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and performance measurement techniques.
Higher secondary school /Graduate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
MS Project/MS Word/Excel /Primavera.
3 -5 yrs of minimum experience for similar role.
