Principal Engineer - Offshore Structural

The Opportunity:

Join Petrofac's dynamic team as a Senior Civil & Structural Engineer and play a vital role in their offshore engineering projects! You'll leverage your expertise to review bids, develop project plans, and lead a team in creating high-quality technical documents and designs.

What You'll Do:

• Proposal & Project Planning:

  • Review Invitation to Bid (ITB) documents and provide technical support to the proposal engineering team.

  • Identify software requirements for projects and specialized studies/subcontract packages.

  • Prepare project scopes of work, ensuring clear understanding of structural design aspects for cost and schedule purposes.

  • As a Lead Engineer, review contract requirements, manage project execution, and oversee the creation of technical document registers.

• Engineering Expertise:

  • Collaborate with technical specialists to develop solutions for complex engineering problems, prioritizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness..

  • Oversee the development of plot plans, engineering drawings, and technical documents for Initial Design Packages (IDCs), integrating data from other engineering disciplines.

  • Manage the review of design calculations and direct the preparation of technical inquiries for vendors.

  • Lead and guide technical bid evaluations and supervise Material Takeoff (MTO) activities.

  • Participate in 3D model review/constructability/installation workshops for assigned projects.

• Quality & Standards:

  • Ensure strict compliance with Petrofac's ISO Quality procedures.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Minimum 10 years of offshore structural design experience, preferably within an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) consultancy or engineering organization.

• Proven experience using SESAM for offshore structural design (minimum 1 project).

• Experience with stress skin design/hull type design of topsides is preferred.

• Minimum experience with 1 EPC offshore project.

• Working knowledge of EN/DNV/ISO/Norsok codes is essential.
