Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

Strategy definition and communication:

  • Manage the IT Digital Platforms and B2B categories, developing and executing center-led sourcing strategies and coordinating locally led sourcing activities to execute with Digital transformation initiatives.

  • Interact meaningfully and with purpose with Group CxOs and OpCo leadership teams to define the IT Digital Platforms and B2B categories sourcing roadmap for implementation of category sourcing initiatives.

  • Manage the internal and external categories profiling (i.e., spend analysis, demand analysis, supply market analysis) and identification of potential levers to lower total cost.

  • Manage Digital Platforms sourcing projects (Customer Value Management, Customer engagement, Customer care, Big Data, Analytics) to execute with respective Digital Strategy at the Group & OpCos level to optimize cost and drive operational efficiencies in the OpCos.

  • Manage the B2B sourcing projects and partnerships with B2B vendors/ partners, at the Group & OpCos level to optimize cost and drive operational efficiencies in the OpCos.

  • Support in identifying/developing digital enablers (suppliers) to partner with the Group and OpCos in the Digital Transformation journey. Lead and leverage the supplier relationships to maximize value from identified digital initiatives.

  • Support the IT Sourcing Senior Director in defining category specific sourcing policies and procedures (e.g., single sourcing, supplier panels, etc.)Build strong collaborative networks and communicates with internal Group stakeholders and relevant OpCo stakeholders to ensure alignment on the category sourcing strategies.

Tendering, negotiation and contract management:

  1. Manage IT Digital Platforms and B2B categories' sourcing activities, driving change, challenging the status quo whilst supervising center-led and locally-led sourcing teams

  2. Manage competitive tendering strategic approach, Leadership of RFx processes within categories, evaluation of submissions and selection of IT Digital Platforms and B2B suppliers/vendors on behalf of Group OpCos, leveraging the consolidated buying power of the Group.

  3. Manage the development, negotiation, and implementation of Group Sourcing Contracts (GSCs) and any amendments thereof.

  4. Conduct effective change management with stakeholder's post-implementation to realize value from initiatives.

  5. Effective communication of results and recommendation at Group C level and across OpCo leadership teams.

  6. Supplier relationship management (SRM):Develop of suppliers' KPIs and scorecard and manages the collection of supplier performance data.

  7. Manage relationships with suppliers to drive improvements in supplier performance and conducts regular supplier reviews.

Performance reporting and compliance:

  1. Develop measurable category objectives and targets and produces regular reports.

  2. Promote compliance across Ooredoo Group on GSCs and Group policies, processes and procedures.

People management:

Supervise Group Sourcing Buyers and local sourcing teams on category sourcing activities, provide guidance and support, monitor and prioritise workload.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Minimum 12 years relevant strategic sourcing or category management experience, of which 5 years should be in Group Telco

  • Proven experience of leadership and delivering results, business change and transformation across IT categories (Digital Platforms and B2B) and implementing innovative sourcing strategies within a multifunctional, Group role.

  • Ability to demonstrate expertise and versatile techniques in managing and negotiating with suppliers in relevant supplier markets within Telecommunications.

  • Experience in data analysis and cost modelling is preferred.

  • Experience in MENA is preferred.

  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal)Written/oral fluency in French/Arabic languages is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Minimum bachelor's degree qualification, preferably in IT discipline.

  • Preferably certified by a relevant professional body (e.g., CIPS, CPM) or qualified with a relevant Master's degree (e.g., Supply Management)
