Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and innovative individual to join our team as the Chef and Research & Development. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the rice cooking operations and leading the research and development efforts of our organization. You will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise while contributing to the creation of new and exciting rice dishes and sauces.
Responsibilities
Chef
Utilize your expertise in rice cooking techniques, such as steaming, boiling, and frying, to ensure that rice dishes are consistently cooked to perfection.
Create and innovate unique and enticing rice recipes that showcase the versatility of rice and contribute to the restaurant's menu offerings.
Demonstrate problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any rice cooking issues, such as texture, overcooking, or undercooking, and address customer complaints or feedback.
Maintain a high standard of quality control, consistently monitoring the quality of rice dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards in terms of consistency and flavor.
Stay updated with industry trends, explore new techniques, and continuously improve rice cooking skills and dish presentations.
Provide guidance and training to the team, ensuring they are knowledgeable about rice cooking techniques and maintaining high standards of food preparation.
Aim to achieve customer satisfaction by delivering delicious and well-cooked rice dishes that leave a lasting positive impression.
R&D Specialist
Apply domain knowledge in formulation, technology transfer, and innovation to convert ideas into final products as per the intended design.
Develop creative and innovative new products in both current and new categories, leveraging your expertise in NPD, HACCP, quality, and regulatory aspects.
Build technology competencies necessary to maintain a healthy pipeline of products and optimize manufacturing processes for new products to support organizational growth.
Maintain and record recipes, ensuring accurate documentation of product development activities, including formulation development, pilot and plant trials, sensory evaluation, and technology transfer.
Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with colleagues from Quality, Marketing, external labs, vendors, and suppliers.
Develop sauces and spices seasonings with culinary knowledge, focusing on multi-dimensional sauce and cuisine development.
Conduct competition study and evaluate competitive products to inform product brief finalization.
Conduct sensory testing at Mayar upon the development of sauces.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Chef, with expertise in rice cooking techniques and recipe creation.
Relevant experience to work with NPD, HACCP, quality, regulatory in executing the ideas.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot rice cooking issues and address customer feedback.
Knowledge of quality control processes and the ability to maintain high standards of food preparation.
Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with industry trends and exploring new techniques.
Leadership skills, with the ability to provide guidance and training to a team of culinary professionals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
