Job Description
Lucid Motors is seeking a passionate and experienced Paint Program Manager to play a vital role in revolutionizing the automotive industry. In this role, you will lead the deployment of Paint Process Equipment, ensuring the Paint Manufacturing line meets all customer specifications and production requirements.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Execute paint process equipment projects from initial design (layout) to launch, including:
Request for Quotation (RFQ) development
Engineering
Installation
Manage project schedules using Microsoft Project.
Develop and maintain risk assessments to mitigate potential delays and cost overruns.
Report project progress to senior management.
Track open issues and ensure timely completion.
Lead the team in prioritizing tasks and meeting project milestones.
Technical Expertise:
Understand and analyze the impact of product design changes on manufacturing equipment.
Gain comprehensive knowledge of the electric vehicle (EV) product, production processes, and paint manufacturing technologies to identify and mitigate risks and optimize operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate equipment requirements seamlessly into the production line.
Facilitate meetings to resolve equipment design and installation issues.
Integration & Launch:
Manage on-site installation planning with equipment integration partners.
Develop and implement design review criteria for equipment approval.
Manage and implement changes proposed by the New Product Introduction (NPI) team.
Secure stakeholder buy-off for equipment design.
Oversee the launch of paint equipment.
Vendor Management:
Develop and issue RFQs for paint equipment.
Evaluate and select equipment vendors.
Lead the vendor selection process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field (required).
5-8 years of experience in Paint Engineering or Project Management (required).
Skills:
Proven experience in the automotive industry (essential).
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and delegate effectively.
Strong leadership skills.
In-depth understanding of electrostatic paint and sealer systems, robotics/automation systems, PT-ED processes, oven and conveyance systems.
Experience with Greenfield & Brownfield project installations and planning.
Proficiency in reading electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
Knowledge of building facility design and utility integration (MEPS).
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to influence positive outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments.
Strong presentation skills and clear communication at all levels (internal & external).
Working knowledge of MS Project and AutoCAD (required).
Working knowledge of Catia and Delmia (a plus).
Experience across multiple functions within product design and manufacturing.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
