Job Description

Brief Description:

  1. Perform basic Respiratory Care Services (RCS) modalities under supervision, including oxygen therapy, patient assessment, aerosol delivery, and medication administration.

  2. Conduct chest physiotherapy and non-invasive ventilation on clinically stable patients.

  3. Perform suctioning of intubated and non-intubated patients and routine tracheostomy changes.

  4. Assess efficacy and patient response to procedures, documenting findings in medical records.

  5. Conduct arterial blood sampling and analysis, blood gas determinations, and electrolyte measurements.

  6. Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency airway management.

  7. Maintain and restock ventilators at patient bedside and clean RCS equipment.

  8. Perform routine equipment maintenance and restock RCS workroom supplies.

  9. Assist in maintaining RCS equipment preventive maintenance schedule.

  10. Report all results, problems, and issues to appropriate personnel.

  11. Assist in education, development, and orientation of new employees and students.

  12. Participate in self and others' education, training, and development.

  13. Follow all hospital-related policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care for Non-Saudis, or graduates of an accredited Saudi Respiratory Technician program.

  • Grade 7: One year of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or two years with an accredited Respiratory care program.

  • Grade 8: Four years as a Respiratory Technician at KFSH&RC, average annual performance appraisal of at least 3.5 for the last four years, and completion of fifty hours of cumulative continued medical education (CME).

  • Current registration from the country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.

  • Respiratory Therapy Certification License from the country of origin is required.

  • Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required.

  • Endotracheal intubation training is preferred.
