About the role

Work Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE)
Reporting To: Commercial General Manager - Food Service Chains MISA
Travel: 30% within MENA The Development chef is a commercial role that provides culinary insights to support the Sales Team, drive our unique selling proposition and present Kerry innovative taste solutions to customers using our various technologies. The role will work cross functionally between RDA, Sales, and Marketing. Operating within the direct commercial team representing Food service - the successful candidate will be an extension of the sales team and will support customer visits and presentations, with regular travel across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

  • To combine innovative and creative ideas and exceptional kitchen capability in developing products with commercial understanding of what will be profitable to the business and the customer/end users.

  • Effectively use enthusiasm, creativity, strong culinary skills and commercial acumen to actively sell the benefits and added value for each new product developed.

  • Interpret and analyze detailed briefs from global brands/external customers regarding specific product requirements and develop this into a viable market ready product that adhere to manufacturing constraints and processes.

  • Generate creative ideas aligned with current and future food trends, translating them into exciting and appealing menus and food offers.

  • Pioneer new ideas, cuisines, and concepts, staying highly innovative.

  • Stay updated with the latest market food trends.

  • Exhibit strong visual and sensory skills, with a keen eye for food presentation styles.

  • Assist in the launch of new products, menu or recipe dishes successfully.

  • Collaborate with global Kerry Chefs as needed.

  • Conduct professional product presentations for internal and external customers, ensuring culinary execution aligns with customer expectations.

  • Ensures culinary execution is consistent with customer positioning of each new product created.

  • Manage multiple projects within established timelines.

  • Contribute to sales growth through product selection, execution, and creative development.

  • Continuously review and improve responsibilities and performance to achieve best-in-class standards.

  • Ensure that the Kerry's reputation for food quality and innovation is enhanced with our customers.

  • Participate in the culinary/technology meetings, when required.

Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in the Food industry, specifically in food and/or ingredients manufacturing.

  • Proven track record of product and/or menu development

  • Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

  • Excellent presentation skills with a passion and commitment to exceptional food.

  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
