Job Description

In this critical role, you'll provide comprehensive technical support for major project management initiatives, ensuring adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards, quality targets, project timelines, and budgetary constraints. Your expertise will span the entire project lifecycle, from contract award to handover, encompassing engineering, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and operational handover.

What You'll Do:

  • Project Management Guru:

    • Provide expert guidance and support to project teams throughout all project phases.

    • Oversee the delivery of all systems (equipment & facilities) to meet project objectives.

    • Collaborate on developing the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Scope of Work and support tendering activities.

    • Prepare gate deliverables aligned with ADNOC's Value Assurance Process (VAP).

    • Work closely with the Project Manager to supervise the Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT) and ensure successful project execution.

    • Regularly report project status, critical issues, and potential roadblocks to the Project Manager.

  • HSE Champion:

    • Ensure project compliance with all HSE requirements, achieving established performance targets.

    • Collaborate with the HSE team to guarantee contractor adherence to company HSE policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Team Leader:

    • Manage and mentor a team of Project Engineers, maximizing their potential and ensuring effective prioritization of workload.

  • Contract Management Expert:

    • Oversee contractor activities in collaboration with Project Engineers, ensuring project execution aligns with contractual and company requirements.

    • Monitor contractor efforts in managing interfaces with other EPC contractors, ADNOC departments, and other operating companies.

  • Planning & Execution Pro:

    • Contribute to the development of project execution strategies, ensuring proper planning, alignment with user requirements, and adherence to overall execution plans.

    • Monitor project team activities to guarantee timely and cost-effective execution of critical subcontracts.

    • Provide support on Contract Administration duties to ensure efficient management of consultants and contractors, including financial expenditure monitoring.

  • Communication & Collaboration:

    • Attend regular progress review meetings with contractors and participate in other project-related meetings.

    • Actively participate in management meetings and effectively disseminate information.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field from an accredited institution (or equivalent).

  • Solid understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and standards, including contract terms and conditions.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the Oil & Gas (Upstream) industry or a similar industrial setting.

  • At least 8-10 years of experience leading and managing complex, multi-faceted projects.

  • Proven track record of successful collaboration with EPC contractors, operating companies, and engineering consultants.

  • Strong understanding of engineering, fabrication, construction, planning, resource allocation, contract management, and administrative functions.

  • Working knowledge of international codes and standards relevant to the oil and gas industry.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Proficiency in project management software and familiar with common computer applications.
