Role Overview: As a Field Professional in Directional Drilling, you will provide on-site supervision of the directional drilling process, including projecting the well path to predetermined target coordinates. Working under general supervision, you will ensure that bottom hole assemblies (BHA) are assembled correctly and assist in providing advice and analysis to the client representative at the well site. Your responsibilities will also include updating well profile plots, completing daily reports, and maintaining records of all directional drilling equipment at the well site.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise the directional drilling process on-site, projecting the well path to predetermined target coordinates.
Ensure that bottom hole assemblies (BHA) are assembled as planned, including correct make-up torque, doping, and handling.
Use directional drilling computer software proficiently and provide accurate directional survey data to the client representative.
Assist in completing daily reports, BHA performance reports, service tickets, and relevant paperwork.
Familiarize yourself with the client's approved drilling program and ensure compliance with their requirements.
Inspect all directional drilling company equipment delivered to the work site and maintain records of equipment condition.
Interface with MWD engineer to ensure BHA compatibility and correct application of toolface references.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
Minimum of 6 months working experience as a Field Professional - Directional Drilling, I.
Ability to read and interpret designed well plans, directional survey information, and other well site data.
Demonstrated technical aptitude to required standards.
Strong communication, arithmetic, data entry, and recording skills.
Possession of relevant rig safety certificates.
Note: This is a field position that requires working on-site at well locations.
