Job Description

Managing the full product life cycle of the assigned product(s) line(s) on a global scale and overseeing development projects from concept to post-launch support. This includes:

  • Developing and improving design basis, scaling tools, test methods, processing techniques, production tools, material combinations, etc., to enable completion of the product development project.

  • Managing the design, qualification, documentation, quality plan, know-how transfer, and application of the assigned product(s) line(s) and providing expert opinion in the raw materials and manufacturing processes used.

Key Accountabilities

  • Project Management: Oversee, manage, and ensure proper execution of product development projects within their agreed scope, allocated budgets, and time frame.

  • Product Qualification: Set the direction, oversee, and lead the product qualification testing for the assigned product line(s), ensuring that all required tests meet internal and market/international standards, and are correctly defined and executed.

  • Compliance: Ensure that the product complies with international standards and end users' specifications.

  • Global Implementation: Manage the global implementation of product(s) and provide post-launch support.

  • Standardization: Prepare and distribute the standard product range of the developed products to FPI companies in liaison with the Product Manager.

  • Training: Ensure proper training of relevant personnel on the new aspects of the developed products in terms of application engineering, design, manufacturing process, quality control, know-how documents, specifications, and requirements to implement and support the developed product.

  • Support Documentation: Provide, upon request by AVE, any calculations/supporting documents showing the design integrity of the product(s).

  • Client Interaction: Attend meetings with clients, consultants, or contractors upon request by Sales/AVE or operating units.

  • Expert Advice: Ensure correct expert advice is given and manage proper follow-up on provided corrective actions to:

    • AVE and Marketing regarding the technical feasibility and design of piping components.

    • Operating companies for any issues related to the assigned product line(s).

    • Manufacturing units during certification audits.

    • Site services/projects/operating companies for failures during installation, of installed pipe systems, or during qualification testing.

  • Design Services: Provide Sales, AVE, and manufacturing units with expert advice and design services for non-standard piping components and define the required qualification tests.

  • Documentation: Manage the generation, compilation, and maintenance of documents and drawings covering the product range designs, qualifications, installation, quality control, and applications.

  • Know-How Documents: Oversee, manage, direct, and ensure the maintenance, implementation, and use of a set of internal know-how documents covering the manufacturing process and raw material selection.

  • Techno-Commercial Documents: Generate, compile, and maintain a set of techno-commercial documents (TCD), such as technical guides, product details, and installation documents.

  • Certification Documents: Generate, compile, and maintain product certification documents for the assigned product line(s).

Span of Communication

  • Internal: Product Manager, Process Manager, and various Product Innovation and Development personnel.

Skills

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Experience:

  • At least 5 years of design engineering experience.

  • Academic or industrial background in composites.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Expertise in general engineering principles.

  • Expert knowledge of all aspects related to composite pipe and pressure vessel design.

  • In-depth understanding of design, production methods, applicable standards & specifications, and testing techniques for composite products.

  • Expertise in composite design & processes.

  • Ability to link theoretical possibilities to practical limitations.

  • Knowledge of oil and gas/pipe-related API, ISO, and ASTM standards.
