Faculty in Mathematics

• The instructor will plan, develop, and deliver instruction in Mathematics to students enrolled in a variety of College and academic preparatory programs.

• S/he will evaluate student progress and manage the resources of the learning environment.

• The instructor will liaise with industry and other educational institutions; participate in industry advisory committees and coordinate, manage and control projects within the specified program area.

• Instructors will keep course portfolio documents required for accreditation processes and engage in instructional development/improvement plans.

• All employees are expected to contribute to professional and community life within the College and beyond.

• Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service.

• Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution.

Skills

Ph. D in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related field from an accredited post-secondary institution recognized by the College.

• Research experience related to area of specialty.

• Teaching experience in a postsecondary educational institution in which English is not the students' first language.

• Demonstrated teamwork and organizational skills.

• Highly developed skill in using technology for effective research, instruction and student assessment.

• English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.0 and above.

• Professional Certification:

• Certification by a professional organization related to specialty.

• Provincial/state teacher or instructor professional association.
