Position Summary:
The project BIM Manager is responsible for developing the end-to-end Project Information Management strategy, execution plan and deployment.
Champions innovation culture on project and provide advice and support to project leadership team and customer regarding emerging technologies including proven innovation and digital solutions to support project delivery and customer goals.
Part of the project management team liaising with both external & internal stakeholders including Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Risk, Procurement and Project Services team, the Client, Document Control, and IS&T.
This role requires the person to demonstrate leadership in the area of Information Management, with proven ability to engage and drive both training and delivery across multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and experience with digital delivery along with having excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with an enthusiasm for team and self-development.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct workshops with client, partners and stakeholders to develops and implements the information management strategy and plan.
Develops project Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and Asset Information Requirements (AIR) to meet project information delivery objectives and asset information handover requirements.
Develop standard contract language to flow down EIR to the AEC/ consultants and contractors' packages during RFP/tender process.
Develop the project Information Management and BIM Execution Plan to satisfy the project information requirements.
Accountable for the configuration control, deployment and maintenance of the Common Data Environment (CDE), implementing associated information workflows including processes and procedures to enable reliable information exchanges between stakeholder
Define and deploy project dashboards to monitor & track implementation of BIM/GIS use-cases and EPC workflows (e.g. design management and construction management)
Facilitate workshop session with project team to integrate project scoping and contracting strategy using the Project Delivery Matrix for scope management and interface management.
Define project key naming and coding structures (e.g., Work Breakdown, Asset Tagging, Document Numbering, Asset Type and Categories, etc) in alignment with project and client requirements.
Establish Mobilization Plan per BEP and deliver relevant kick off meetings/workshops
Ensures the project meets the information requirements, and industry wide standards (i.e. ISO19650, NATSPEC, etc.,) .
Review each delivery team's BIM Execution Plan and Information Delivery Plans in accordance to the project EIR/AIR and the relevant Scope of Work.
Develop work-process maps, data inputs and outputs to support application and data exchange requirements to support project digital workflows.
Capture lessons learned and implement improved workflows
Provide input to the Project Execution Plan (PEP) for innovation and digital solutions
Coordination with Project Controls and Construction on the workflows/processes to support the development of work-packaging/4D strategy to ensure the continuity and appropriate level of information detail is captured progressively and at each milestone
Engage with Procurement and Contracts to ensure contract flow-down requirement (EIR/AIR) and supply chain assessment forms part of the RFP/tender documents
Reviews the IS&T Project automation plan to confirm alignment with the Project Information Management strategy and plans. Incorporate best practices from IS&T for identity and access management and other information security requirements
Develop training plans on the use of the systems, tools and CDE to maintain the data integrity of the Project Information Model including engagement with off-Project subject matter experts as required.
Conducts regular Assessments to review the implementation of the Plan and maturity achieved on the Project, and to seek opportunities for improvement.
Champions innovation across the Project by establishing a culture for ideas and improvement opportunities to be raised, considered and implemented.
Liaises with GBU and Corporate Innovation teams on the development and deployment of proven and emerging technologies
Experience Essentials:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Architecture with 15+ years experience on large complex EPC projects, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in BIM and Digital Delivery role
Ability to problem solve, especially in an integrated project delivery information environment, applying industry best practices.
Advanced knowledge in tools such as Infraworks, Civil3D, Revit, Synchro, BIM360 and Navisworks
Demonstrate understanding of ISO 19650 Information Management Principles and Framework
Knowledge and experience in EPC work processes and tools, while learning and understanding client environment and unique requirements.
Experience in supporting the tender process from conceptual design through to RFP, Bid evaluation, selection, negotiation, and execution.
Previous experience in developing project standards, class libraries and master data management on large scale projects.
Experience in developing data management execution strategies and configuration control
Experience with definition and configuration of the Common Data Environment (CDE) and related workflows. .
Experience in working closely with senior Client staff and JV partner or sub-Contractors in designing and implementing digital solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to explain digital transformation and digital solutions and technologies to all levels of the organization.
Self-motivated individual with outstanding leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority.
Ability to manage priorities and take on additional evolving responsibilities with demonstrated experience providing direction/supervising to digital leads in engineering, construction and other cross-functional team.
