Associate Professor of Psychology

The School of Arts and Sciences at The American University in Dubai invites applications for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor of Psychology. The successful candidate will join a diverse team of faculty members and contribute to one of the fastest growing and diversified economies in the world.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Psychology or a related field from a Western accredited university.

• Previous teaching experience in a Western higher education system with high ratings of teaching effectiveness.

• Evidence of scholarly activity or strong potential for scholarly contributions.

• Excellent English written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to work collegially within a team of faculty members from diverse disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Evidence of successful teaching experience or significant potential for teaching effectiveness and excellence at the undergraduate level.

• Ability to meet standards for personal professional scholarship.

• Experience in student advising and other departmental, school, and community services.

Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate courses in Psychology.

• Engage in scholarly activity.

• Advise students and contribute to departmental, school, and community services.

• Work collaboratively with a culturally diverse team of scholars.
