The Opportunity:
Join our team as a Contract Administrator and play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful commercial and contractual delivery of construction projects. You'll work collaboratively with a global team to handle all aspects of the contract lifecycle, from tendering to close-out.
Responsibilities:
Manage the General Engineering Consultant's (GEC) contract, overseeing commercial and contractual aspects.
Administer construction projects directly in the absence of a GEC.
Handle all project phases, including budgeting, cost estimating, tendering, construction, and close-out.
Oversee procurement of construction and consultant contracts through competitive bidding.
Resolve commercial and contractual matters efficiently.
Identify, manage, and control commercial risks.
Review tender documents (ITTs, contract conditions, scopes of work, etc.) with project managers and design teams.
Analyze and provide independent cost estimates for new projects.
Assist in preparing tender reports for approvals.
Identify and escalate potential issues that could impact project delivery.
Possess in-depth knowledge of relevant Public Works Authority (PWA) procedures, Qatar government requirements, and PWA contract/specification standards (QCS 2014+).
Manage GEC contracts, adhering to contract terms and PWA procedures (guarantees, personnel, insurance, change orders, claims, etc.).
Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contracts and PWA procedures (guarantees, warranties, change management, claims, key personnel, penalties, etc.).
Oversee change management processes, following PWA procedures and contracts.
Handle all contractual, commercial, and financial matters.
Manage claims and payment processes.
Adhere to PWA circulars and administer contracts accordingly.
Prepare and review contractual correspondence.
Manage internal PWA communication for effective contract administration.
Generate commercial reports and presentations for PWA management.
Oversee project close-out activities.
Prepare and update various progress reports (weekly/monthly).
Mentor junior staff members.
Perform other assigned duties.
You're a Perfect Fit If You Have:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Proven experience in contract administration for construction projects.
Strong understanding of commercial and contractual requirements across the project lifecycle (budgeting, tendering, construction, close-out).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in relevant construction contract administration software.
In-depth knowledge of PWA procedures, Qatar government regulations, and PWA contract/specification standards (QCS 2014+).
