Graduate - Safety, Health & Environment (UAE National)

Join AECOM's 2024 Graduate Program as a Graduate Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Coordinator, offering an exciting opportunity for a UAE National to support our SH&E Senior Manager in our Dubai office. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance across our projects.

By collaborating with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you will learn how to implement and monitor SH&E requirements to ensure alignment with local regulations, project specifications, and AECOM's business standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn how field/project point of contacts assess Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) matters at AECOM.

• Assist in identifying and implementing SH&E requirements, ensuring alignment with local regulations, project specifications, and AECOM's business standards.

• Shadow on-site/project SH&E liaison, learning about compliance and maintaining stakeholder alignment.

• Assist with inspections of contractor activities, ensuring adherence to SH&E policies, plans, and contractual obligations.

• Document and communicate inspection findings, facilitating prompt resolution through the project reporting system.

• Coordinate and actively participate in SH&E meetings, potentially taking on chairing and record-keeping responsibilities.

• Learn how to submit comprehensive safety inspection reports to the Resident Engineer and/or project leads, seeking necessary support.

• Review and assess risk mitigation documentation, including plans, procedures, Safe Work Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.

• Assist in the procedures to investigate incidents and near misses, following client and AECOM procedures, and implementing preventive measures.

• Attend relevant training sessions, including risk assessment training, to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in SH&E, Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field from an accredited University.

• Candidates must be recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program.

• Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.7 or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above.
