About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team in Manama, Bahrain! In this role, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of environmental projects, with a focus on the marine environment. You will contribute to fieldwork, data analysis, report writing, and project management tasks, ensuring the successful completion of high-quality environmental assessments and related projects.
Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate various aspects of environmental assessments, including planning, managing, and supervising fieldwork, particularly marine ecological surveys.
Contribute to the preparation of environmental assessments (EIAs, ESIAs, ESHIAs) and Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) by applying technical knowledge and field data.
Manage projects under budget and on schedule with moderate supervision, collaborating effectively with colleagues across disciplines.
Apply your expertise in marine ecology to a diverse range of environmental projects.
Gather and analyze information from project leads and integrate findings into reports.
Participate in the review of project deliverables to ensure accuracy and quality.
Assist in the preparation of pre-tender documents, technical proposals, and other business development materials.
Support project management activities, leveraging your technical knowledge and experience to manage smaller projects independently.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, ensuring clear and concise reports and presentations.
Maintain a safe work ethic in both the office and field environments.
Qualifications:
Experience contributing to environmental assessments across various sectors, with a strong emphasis on marine projects.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Project) and GIS software (ArcGIS).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a focus on technical writing and clear presentation.
Specialization in marine ecology is highly preferred.
PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent SCUBA qualification is a plus.

Experience:
3-6 years of relevant experience in an environmental consulting firm (ideal).
Experience working on environmental projects in the Middle East and/or involving marine environments (preferred).
Education:
Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, or a closely related field (required).
Master of Science degree in a relevant field (preferred).
