Senior Construction Manager

About the Opportunity:

In this exciting role, you'll take the lead on mixed-use development projects, from the initial planning stages all the way through to successful completion. You'll leverage your expertise in construction management to develop comprehensive plans, manage budgets, and ensure all project milestones are delivered on time and according to specifications. You'll also lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

What You'll Do:

• Project Planning & Execution Champion:

  • Lead the planning and execution of mixed-use development projects, ensuring alignment with client needs and company goals.

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, fostering timely and efficient project delivery.

  • Coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to keep projects on track.

• Collaborative & Inspiring Leader:

  • Provide direction and leadership to project teams, including site supervisors, engineers, and support staff.

  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that promotes open communication and teamwork.

  • Mentor and coach junior team members, helping them develop their skills and advance their careers within AECOM.

• Quality & Safety Advocate:

  • Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure construction activities meet all industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential issues proactively and address them efficiently.

  • Oversee the implementation of corrective actions as needed to maintain project quality and integrity.

• Cost Management Expert:

  • Closely monitor project budgets and expenditures, identifying variances and implementing cost-saving measures when possible.

  • Review and approve contractor invoices, change orders, and other financial documents.

  • Provide accurate and timely financial reports to project stakeholders and senior management.

• Risk Mitigation Specialist:

  • Proactively identify potential risks and hazards associated with construction activities and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact.

  • Ensure strict adherence to all relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

  • Address any legal or regulatory issues that may arise during the course of the project.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on mixed-use development projects.

• Proven track record of successfully leading and managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.

• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques, with a focus on sustainable and innovative practices.

• Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.

• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is a plus.
