Job Description
A Shift Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of equipment and machinery during their designated shift. They ensure that all systems are running smoothly and efficiently to meet production goals and minimize downtime. The Shift Engineer also coordinates with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and control the operation of equipment and machinery during the shift.
Perform regular inspections to identify any potential issues or malfunctions.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and carry out necessary repairs and maintenance tasks.
Provide technical support and guidance to operators and other team members.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and any incidents.
Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.
Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment or machinery breakdowns.
Collaborate with other departments to optimize production processes and improve overall efficiency.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in equipment technology.
Preferred Candidate:
5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
Strong technical knowledge of equipment and machinery operation.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented and organized.
Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
Skills
Proficiency in equipment troubleshooting and repair.
Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
Must have Pharma background
Familiarity with preventive maintenance techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
